The much-awaited Symbitech 2025, the flagship tech fest of Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, was successfully held on 24th and 25th January 2025. This two-day extravaganza brought together tech enthusiasts, students, and professionals, creating an electrifying atmosphere of learning, innovation, and collaboration.
Inauguration Ceremony :
Symbitech 2025 commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony, graced by Dr. Ketan Kotecha, Director of SIT, and Umang Sanglia, VP of AI at CoolerX. The event began with an inspiring address by Dr. Kotecha, highlighting the importance of technological advancements in shaping the future. Umang Sanglia shared insights into the role of AI and deep learning in revolutionizing industries. The audience witnessed the unveiling of various competitions and workshops that would take place over the two days. With an impressive lineup of speakers and mentors, the inauguration set the tone for an action-packed festival. The ceremony also included an overview of the event structure, rules, and prizes, ensuring participants were well-prepared for the challenges ahead. The enthusiasm among attendees was palpable as the countdown to the first event began, marking the official commencement of Symbitech 2025.






SymbiTech 2025
APPLIED SCIENCE DEPARTMENT
- Equation Hi-Lo – A strategy-based mathematical challenge where participants had to form equations closest to given numerical targets while making calculated bids. The competition blended elements of probability, algebra, and logical reasoning, requiring participants to think on their feet while predicting their opponents' moves. A balance of risk and accuracy played a key role in determining the winner.
- Unblock Me: Jenga Edition – A fun yet mentally stimulating event that challenged participants to strategically remove and reposition Jenga blocks to clear a path for a designated block in the shortest possible time. The competition tested hand-eye coordination, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving skills under intense pressure, making it a thrilling battle of precision and tactics.

Symbitech 2025 proudly hosted Crane-o-Mania, a structural engineering competition that tested participants' creativity, technical expertise, and precision. Held at the Concrete Lab, the event challenged students to design a functional tower crane using limited materials under strict constraints. The event was a resounding success, showcasing exceptional engineering talent and teamwork. - Special Showcase:
A stunning 7-foot model of the Empire State Building in New York was intricately replicated using MDF sheets and precision laser cutting techniques. The masterpiece showcased meticulous craftsmanship, capturing the iconic skyscraper's architectural details, and served as a remarkable representation of engineering excellence and creative artistry at the event. - Overview of the Event:
Crane-o-Mania required participants to construct tower cranes using balsa sticks and Feviquik, adhering to strict material and design constraints. The competition tested the cranes' ability to withstand incremental vertical loads until failure, with participants demonstrating remarkable creativity and precision. - Winners:

DAY 2: TILT ‘N’ FLOW
Date: 25.01.2025
- Overview of the Event:
Tilt-n-Flow revolved around testing G+3 building models under artificial wave conditions. The flume, with dimensions of 9m in length, 0.5m in width, and 1.05m in depth, simulated real-world wave forces, allowing participants to analyze the structural performance of their models under controlled hydrodynamic conditions. The event encouraged participants to push the boundaries of design and practicality while adhering to strict material and design rules. - Model Specifications:
- Height of Building: G+3 with floor-to-floor height of 10 cm.
- Floor Area: 125 to 150 sq. cm.
- Fixtures Per Slab: Four fixtures for adding weights.
- Judging Criteria:
- Weight Efficiency: Minimum weight sustaining maximum pulsating force.
- Structural Integrity: Failure was defined as structural member failure or wall failure.
- Testing Phases:
- Primary Level:
- Each floor was required to sustain a weight of 100 g. Weights were placed in fixtures on all slabs.
- First Level – Pulsating Load of Breaking Waves:
- The structure was tested against pulsating wave loads at three wave heights (0.3m, 0.45m, 0.6m) equivalent to forces of 4.41 kN, 6.62 kN, and 8.82 kN respectively. Each test lasted for 30 seconds.
- Advanced Level:
- Incremental loads of 50 g/floor were added, and the structure was re-tested under the same wave conditions until failure occurred.
- Primary Level:

- 1st Place: Group 4 – Their lightweight yet robust design sustained the maximum pulsating force while adhering to all constraints.
- 2nd Place: Group 1 – Known for their innovative use of wall panel designs.

Competitors worked in teams to crack encrypted data, bypass security mechanisms, and identify vulnerabilities in a simulated hacking environment.

Event Description: Voltage Voyage was an immersive problem-solving challenge where participants found themselves in a high-stakes scenario: a virus had infected the city's power grid, and only their electronics expertise could restore it. This event tested technical and analytical skills through an engaging mix of technical and non-technical puzzles.
Event Structure:
- Mission Overview: Teams progressed through seven levels, solving puzzles and collecting circuit components along the way. The final task required them to assemble a complete circuit to restore power.
- Stages:
- Voltage Puzzle – Teams used a digital multimeter to measure and report correct voltage values.
- Blindfolded Obstacle Course – Participants navigated a course with interactive sensory tasks.
- Logic Gate Puzzle – Teams designed and implemented logic gate circuits using a breadboard.
- Stack the Cups Challenge – A fun, skill-based stacking competition.
- Arduino-Based Alert System – Participants built a circuit using an Arduino, LED/buzzer, and sensors.

- A rapid-fire Q&A competition on circuit fundamentals, theories, and components.
- Conducted via buzzers or online platforms.

- Component Guessing – A pair-based guessing game using clues.
- Resistor Identification – Calculating resistance using color codes.

IEEE Student Chapter Events
Event Description: The Blazing Finger Battle was an intense quiz competition designed to test participants' knowledge and speed. Hosted on the Kahoot platform, the event featured multiple rounds of rapid-fire questions, problem-solving challenges, and intriguing trivia. The goal was to encourage learning in a fun and competitive environment while ensuring maximum engagement.
Event Structure:
- Day 1 – Qualifier Rounds:
- Participants competed in individual or team-based quizzes, answering a series of fast-paced questions covering technology, innovation, and logic puzzles.
- The top scorers advanced to the next round, while other attendees enjoyed interactive side activities.
- Day 2 – Semi-Finals and Grand Finale:
- Semi-finalists tackled even more challenging quiz rounds, increasing the competition intensity.
- The Grand Finale witnessed the best minds battling for the top prize, with surprise questions and live leaderboards elevating the excitement.
- A high-speed typing competition that pushed participants to their limits. Contestants had to type passages with extreme accuracy and speed, progressing through elimination rounds. Each round became increasingly challenging, requiring focus, agility, and precision. The top typists competed in a nail-biting final round, showcasing their ability to balance speed and accuracy under pressure.

Those who successfully outperformed the AI advanced to the second round, where they faced off against fellow contestants. Our college’s very own Formula Student team has been making waves, not just in the workshop but also on campus, where they recently showcased their high-performance cars, proving that engineering and motorsport go hand in hand.
The team, composed of dedicated and passionate students, unveiled their latest creation, a testament to innovation and teamwork. From aerodynamics to powertrain, every aspect of the car embodies precision engineering, and the showcase was an opportunity for students from all disciplines to witness this craftsmanship up close.
