Overview
The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with an intake of 60 and M.Tech in Automotive Technology in collaboration with Automotive Research Association of India, Pune ( ARAI) with an intake of 30. The department also offers doctoral program in all the state of art areas of mechanical engineering.
The department aims at imparting high-quality education and producing industry ready professionals in Mechanical Engineering. To realize this aim, the department has recruited highly qualified and experienced faculty and set up labs which have latest equipment for teaching, demonstration and research. To ensure the relevance of curriculum, professionals from industry and distinguished professors from IITs and other renowned institutions are actively involved in curriculum development, guest lectures and project evaluations. The curriculum also includes multidisciplinary courses aimed at producing professionals with broader domain of knowledge.
A mechanical engineering degree offers a plethora of career options which are largely determined by individual choices-a distinctive benefit in a rapidly changing world. As per the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), India’s growth in the global engineering and research and development is likely to grow at a CAGR of 12- 13% to reach US$ 63 Billion by 2025 of which mechanical engineering jobs will contribute about 9 to 12%. With several MNC’s launching R&D facilities in India and the exceptional expansion of infrastructure, the occupation of Mechanical Engineering is projected to be in great demand in the near future. As a mechanical engineer, you may be employed in Automotive Industries, Construction & Building Sites, Manufacturing Industries, Indian Armed Forces & Ministry of Defence, Smart Manufacturing Industry and IoT, Engineering Consultancies, Government Agencies, Biomedical Industries
