Dr Ketan Kotecha is a receipt of LEAP grant from Government of INDIA.
LEAP is one of the most niched program for young leaders in academics.
The Director, Dr Ketan Kotecha is invited to participate in US-India Higher Education Collaboration Workshop to be held in Washington D.C on April 2020 for establishing international partnerships for research and academic collaborations with India and USA. His visit is sponsored by the Embassy of the United States of America in India.

Funded Project outcomes
Under the project funded by European Union- Department of Science & Technology and supported by Symbiosis on Water and Waste water treatment, a benchmark experiment for growing tomatoes with treated wastewater is conducted on a large scale. Prof. Sagar Kolekar has successfully installed drip irrigation system to grow tomatoes under the guidance of Dr. Kanchan Khare and Prof.Pennan Chinnasamy (IIT Bombay).
International Collaboration
Article by Research Scholar Ms. Shalaka Hire, with Dr. Sayali Sandbhor as the supervisor and Dr. Kirti Ruikar, Loughborough University, UK as the Co-supervisor, titled “Bibliometric Survey for Adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in Construction Industry– A Safety Perspective” is published in “Archives of Computational Methods in Engineering” which is a Q1 Journal with a very high Impact factor of 7.351.
Industry and International Academia Collaboration
Dr. Sayali Sandbhor presented a research Paper in collaboration with Industry (L&T) and International academia (Loughborough University, UK) at Project Management Institute’s Research Academic Conference organized by IIT Bombay in March 2021. Paper got published in conference proceedings.
Invitation as Expert for Road Safety Audit
Prof. Humera Khanum is invited as the Road Safety Audit Expert at PCCOE for the Urban road safety audit project of PCMC.
Sweden- India Mobility Hackathon
SIT CIVIL department is very proud to announce that challenges submitted by Prof. Humera Khanum and Prof. Rushikesh Kulkarni were selected for Sweden- India Mobility Hack, an International Hackathon. Prof. Humera Khanum was invited as a Jury member for the Hackathon where more than 600 participants submitted their solutions.
Prof. Rushikesh Kulkarni, invited as Lead Jury, declared the results of the challenge designed by him during the online function. The online felicitation ceremony was conducted in the presence of Hon. Minister Nitin Gadkariji, Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Government of India and Mr. Klas Molin, Sweden ambassador to India.
Proposal Submission for session at WETPOL 2021- International Symposium by Prof. Kanchan Khare, Head Civil Department,
Proposal for organizing a session on "Role and the functioning of wetlands and other nature-based solutions in urban settings" for WETPOL 2021 organised by BOKU university Vienna along with Dr Robert Faggian from Deakin University and Dr Dayanand Panse, Director Ecosan Services Foundation has been accepted.

Recently coordinated three months (17th August - 20 November) course Basics of Remote Sensing Geographical Information System and Global Navigation Satellite System by IIRS, Dehradun in online mode. Two students from the civil department have completed and received the certificate for the course.
